What it takes to make a Fox Fire Grass-Fed Lamb

Richard and Linda Parry are the owners and operators of Fox Fire Farms. The Parry family has been ranching and farming in Southwest Colorado since 1913. Despite the rapid commercial and residential development of Southwest Colorado, our farms are a true haven to the people who live and work here, our livestock and the abundant wildlife.

We have developed a local and national reputation as practitioners of sustainable agriculture. Richard acts as a sustainable agricultural consultant, participating as a speaker in many local, national and international conferences. Richard is a regular contributor to "The Stockman Grass Farmer", a magazine for "Grass Farmers".
We believe that the consumer would like to have a more personal relationship with the people who raise their food. It is our goal to provide healthy food for health conscious consumers.
We take care of the animals and the land and they take care of us and our customers. We have established goals of bio-diversity and sustainablity for the lands we manage. Our grazing lands are a true pasture salad of clovers, grasses and other forbs. Fox Fire Farms livestock are raised and finished on these lush orgnaic pastures the way nature intended. We are managing for an abundance of species. Everything from earthworms, butterflies, deer, elk and people benefit from this management.
Fox Fire Grass-fed Lamb, goat, beef, wine and eggs are a true free range product raised on pasture. A Fox Fire Farms Grass-fed product will never come from a feed lot. We are opposed to factory farming and do not want to be part of the problem but part of the solution. Our Grass-fed lambs, beef, and goats are raised on clover, grass and their mother's milk. Fox Fire Farms Grass-fed meats have no added artificial growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics. Unlike New Zealand grass-fed lambs, our grass-fed lambs are produced in totally organic, chemical free system. [ See our Production Standards ].
Our products are healthy for you. Grass raised lambs, beefs, and goats are much higher in the cancer fighting agent conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). A grass raised product will be very unlikely to ever have E coli contamination. We encourage our customers to return to a more traditional, natural diet, produced on a family farm.
We invite you as our customer to share in our mission to preserve open space, wildlife, the soil, and traditional family farm values. At the same time you will be enjoying the finest and healthiest of all meat products available. Let us be YOUR farmer and rancher. After all people have doctors and dentists they like. Why not have a farmer you can call your own?
